DETERMINE IF THE AREA IS A CONFINED SPACE BY CONDUCTING A RISK ASSESSMENT IF IT IS:

A permit must be obtained prior to commencing any confined space works.

All sources of energy affecting the confined space must be isolated refer to lock out & tag
out process. -
Testing of the atmosphere must be conducted, verified and recorded prior to entering the space.

An emergency rescue plan must be in place, and it must be communicated and rehearsed so that everyone’s roles and responsibilities are understood before work commences.

Re-testing of the atmosphere must be repeated and recorded as often as defined in the
risk assessment.
